The need for good individualized Christian Education in Alexandria was very real, as Christian families were not willing to send their children off to boarding school, thereby breaking the family bond.
The school was started after God gave us the vision to change the youth of Alexandria through the tool of Christian Education, providing options for a better future. The school started off with 10 students in the first year (2002).

All our Graduates who were at universities were awarded the Golden Key membership, which is only given to students who are amongst the top 15% of academic achievers in their faculties.
ACA has received letters of congratulations from three universities: Stellenbosch, Pretoria and Rhodes, commending the school on the high academic standards of the students, who graduated at ACA.
Our Goal is to Instill Wonder, Spark Discovery and Fuel Passion
Maximum Teacher: Student ratio is 1:18 + Teacher’s aid per learning centre (Multigrades). Teaching focus is more on the learner learning, than on the teacher teaching, using Learning and Teaching materials from Accelerated Christian Education.
Each child advances at his/her own individual pace, according to his/her abilities. Character and Bible training is an integral part of all Curriculum Materials. Because of the different approach to learning, it is not advisable to start working on it later than Grade 6 level.
ACA is a member of SACSSA (South African Christian Schools Sport Association). The school has produced one national SACSSA athlete in Cross Country and at least ten with provincial EP colours. Our athletes can participate in athletics, cross country, Archery and chess on a provincial and national level.
Team sports: soccer, netball, hockey and cricket are played on a social basis. Physical education is compulsory; two hours per week during school time.
A School production is staged every second year. Our Students also perform well in Eistedfodd. Art and Culture is a part of the curriculum.
“No matter what a school may have to offer in the way of an education and good friends and the chance of a good job later, if it is not somehow also a place where student and teacher alike can become more and more of what it means to be truly human, then it is the wrong place for them both because without this all the rest is only business.”
